ShowStopper

Find what shows up in Windows' shutdown/restart dialog and why it's blocking shutdown.

What it does

• Finds programs that tell Windows "don't shut down yet" and lists them.
• Detects mysterious "Untitled" entries with a generic icon that may not show in Task Manager.
• Shows simple identifying info: PID, executable path, window title and shutdown-block reason text when available.

How to use

1. Click Refresh to scan the system.
2. Select an item and click Details (or double‑click) to view full information.
3. Use Reveal in Explorer to open the program file location, or Copy to copy the report text.
4. If more info requires admin access, use Relaunch as admin.

Why it's useful

Investigate what's preventing shutdown without restarting. Identify hidden or poorly labeled apps so you can decide whether to close them or look for updates/support.

Safety note

ShowStopper reads system information to help identify processes. It does not change system state or restart your PC unless you explicitly take an action.
